Musician

I have a background as a classically trained soprano. Before my academic career, my aim was to become a professional opera singer, and I actually sang opera for eleven summers (2001–2011) in the Savonlinna Opera Festival choir. After leaving the choir, I wanted to try out new things, and stepped into the field of rock music. That was an eye-opening experience for me, and I felt I really found my true voice once I started to make music of my own. Since 2011, I have been involved in music projects of various styles and genres, and I have made songs for three different bands: Nyrkkikyllikit, Salamapartio, and Rosy Palmerin siskot. In addition to singing, I play piano, ukulele and different kinds of percussion instruments. I have also worked as a studio musician, performing featuring vocals for couple of local bands (Saatanan kojootti, Akseli Hiltunen) and assisted them with the arrangements of their songs. In 2019, working together with my colleague Mikko Myllykoski, we composed, arranged, and produced a theme song for the University of Jyväskylä's video campaign.
